Winning Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185
The Celica GT-Four is a rally-tuned race machine. Toyota raced it in the world championship races in the years 1988‒1995 with the highest success. There were other variants too, the ST165, ST185 and ST205. But none was more successful than the ST 185.
Repeated world champion
The ST 185 was the most successful Celica-GT-Four variant and dominated the world championships in the years 1992, 1993 and 1994. In this period, the Toyota Team Europe, which built the cars, won three brilliant drivers’ world championships and two manufacturers’ world championship titles.
Adrenaline-filled Safari-Rallye
The Safari-Rallye in Nairobi is considered by many as one of the most difficult. Among the dust-raising cars, one was the Toyota Celica GT-Four ST 185 offered by us. Markku Alen and his co-driver Ilkka Kivimäki finished the world championship race in position 5. It would not be the last Safari. One year later, the car again came to Nairobi, however this time as recce-car for Juha Kankkunen and Jua Piironen. They had moved from Lancia to Toyota in the 1993 season.
Certificate of authenticity
The car has a certificate of authenticity from Toyota Motorsport GmbH. It has currently been re-tuned to the Safari setup and technically refurbished. Thus, the future owner can easily make it rally-standard. We are happy to present this rally star to you.
